The Stratford Holiday Inn, was the venue once again for this years Antics Summer Ball which was held on Saturday 30 June 2007.
The evening began with a champagne reception and adding glamour to the evening was a film crew who were filming our very own Antics supporter Rosie Jones, who is starring on the BBC1 programme 'Not What to Wear', which will be aired in the Autumn.
The evening then followed with a superb four course meal and lots of complimentary fine wine, during which there was a Charity Auction hosted by Grant Bazin where there was an opportunity to purchase some unique items, such as a pair of Silver Virgin Balloon flights, limited edition Antics Portrait and Canvas, Cartier Polo tickets and a weeks free horse training with Sarah Weston in the New Forrest. The Auction raised £2615 - so thank you to everyone who donated items and for all of you who bidded. We also had a raffle which raised £850!
The Summer Ball is also a chance for us to thank all those who have helped us throughout the year. Certificate of Thanks were presented to the following people:
Sandra Williams - for long term support and charitable donations
Kelly Marks - for long term support and charitable donations
Mike O'Brien - for long term support and charitable donations
Janet Baker - for taking care of our Accounts
Ian Vandenberghe, Hannah La Costa and Kathy Whitham - for raising money by walking the Great Wall of China
Jenny Semmence - for designing and creating our website
After the presentations and Auction, Steve who does the disco for us, did a superb job of keeping everyone dancing till 2 o’ clock and from all accounts everyone had a good time! So if you are thinking of coming to our next Summer Ball, book early as this events popularity has really taken off!
